Olympic Gold Medalist Lillie Leatherwood Is A Member Of Zeta Phi Beta
Did you know that Olympic gold medalist Lillie Leatherwood is a member of Zeta Phi Beta? Leatherwood was initiated into the Iota Theta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. at the University of Alabama.
Lillie Leatherwood is a track athlete who competed in the 400 meters. Leatherwood was born in Tuscaloosa, AL, and attended the University of Alabama where she pledged Zeta in 1986. She also set a record for the 400-m in the 1986 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
In 1984, Leatherwood competed in the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, CA. She raced in the 4 x 400 meters where she won gold with her teammates Sherri Howard, Valerie Brisco-Hooks, and Chandra Cheeseborough. She now works for the Tuscaloosa Police Department.
