Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, celebrated the induction of 12 remarkable women into its Alpha Omega Chapter as Honorary Members during a memorable ceremony at Howard University on September 19, 2023. Among the distinguished individuals honored on this occasion is Jennifer “Jennie” Joseph, recognized as TIME Magazine Woman of the Year 2022 for her unwavering dedication to addressing the alarming rate of Black maternal mortality.
Jennifer Joseph, affectionately known as Ms. Jennie, has made an indelible mark on the healthcare landscape by founding Commonsense Childbirth, Equitable Perinatal Care. Her organization holds the distinction of being the first black-owned licensed midwifery school in the United States.
