This is the truth. Hurston was one of the earliest members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She became an initiate of Zeta’s Alpha Chapter during her time at Howard University.
Zora Neale Hurston was an African American author, anthropologist, and filmmaker. She focused on racial struggles in the 1900s. She wrote over 50 stories, plays, and essays throughout her career. One of her main interests was African American and Caribbean folklore. Hurston became a key figure in the Harlem Renaissance by inspiring the movement with her published work.
