Phi Beta Sigma’s Ran Carthon Named General Manager of The Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans have made a big move in their front office, naming Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. member Ran Carthon as their new General Manager.
Carthon brings a wealth of experience to the Titans, with over a decade of experience working in various roles in the NFL. He spent five seasons as Director of Pro Personnel for the San Francisco 49ers, where he played a key role in building the team that reached the Super Bowl in 2020. He then served as Director of Player Personnel with the 49ers for the past two seasons.
Before joining the 49ers, Carthon spent five seasons as Director of Pro Personnel with the St. Louis Rams, where he helped build a team that reached the Super Bowl in 2019. He also spent four seasons as a scout with the Atlanta Falcons, where he helped the team reach the playoffs in 2017.
Carthon’s experience also includes a successful college football career with the University of Florida, where he was part of the team that won the 2000 SEC Championship. He also spent three years in the National Football League with the Indianapolis Colts.
The Titans selected Carthon for the job following interviews with seven candidates. With his extensive experience and knowledge of the game, Carthon is well-positioned to lead the Titans to new heights. He is known for his ability to evaluate talent, his attention to detail and his ability to work well with coaches and other front office personnel.
Carthon inherits a Titans team that has a solid core of young talent, and has made the playoffs in two of the past three seasons. With a quarterback in Ryan Tannehill, who had a career year in 2020, and a strong defense, the Titans have the pieces in place to make a run at the playoffs.
Carthon will be tasked with helping the Titans build on their recent success and take the next step towards becoming a Super Bowl contender. He will have the opportunity to shape the team in his image, and will be responsible for making all the key decisions related to player personnel.
Phi Beta Sigma brothers across the nation celebrated in their Carthon’s new leadership position. The International Headquarters of the fraternity even took to social media to give him a special shout out.
We at Watch The Yard are excited to see what this brother of Phi Beta Sigma will bring to the table.
