Watch The Yard Is Partnering With Michelle Obama’s ‘When We All Vote’ For The June For The People Act Challenge
Watch The Yard is leading the charge with Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote, a nonpartisan initiative on a mission to fight voter suppression, increase participation in each and every election, and close the race and age voting gap.
Our democracy is under attack! We are launching a June Challenge to reach out to our senators 10,000 times by June 24 in support of the For the People Act.
Our right to vote is being threatened across the country. Over 400 voter suppression bills have been proposed in statehouses since the beginning of the year. In states like Georgia, Arizona, and Florida, bills have already been signed into law that will make it even harder for millions of people to make their voices heard.
What Can You Do?
We are calling on our entire network to make their voices heard by contacting your senators in favor of the For The People Act this June. This is the moment! The bill will go to the Senate this Summer and NOW is the time to do all that we can to show our support for the most significant voting rights and democracy reform in more than half a century.
Why Does It Matter?
When large numbers of everyday people contact members of Congress, our elected officials are more inclined to listen to the people who put them in office. In fact, bills are often inspired because people, like you, champion an issue important to them. Now, you can have a direct impact on our democracy by contacting our representatives and explaining why the For The People Act is important to you.
Here is 2 simple ways you help us meet our goal of 10,000 calls and email our senators to ensure your voice is counted:
1. Call your Senators HERE
2. Email your Senators HERE
Each call or email counts! You can do any of these actions multiple times a day or throughout the month and it will count towards our goal.
Let’s show them the power of the people!
