The brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi are always achieving!
The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) elected Kappa Alpha Psi’s very own Ralph “RJ” Johnson of the United Nations Association of the United States of America to represent North America on the WFUNA Youth Advisory Council. Johnson is the first American in WFUNA History to be elected to this post.
Shreveport Times quotes Johnson stating, “I am humbled and honored by the confidence my fellow delegates have placed in me and to make history as the first American to serve in this capacity. I will do my best in representing the interest of all North American young people.”
WFUNA’s Youth Advisory Council is comprised of 9 youth leaders from Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, and South America. As the North American representative Johnson will, “advise the Secretary-General on youth issues initiatives, foster youth involvement among United Nations Associations and United Nations Youth Associations, work with WFUNA’s mission of developing youth programs that build the capacity of its global membership and work to strengthen and improve the work of the United Nations by brainstorming pragmatic, innovative, and cost-effective programs for WFUNA’s local, regional, and global networks,” Shreveport Times states.
Johnson began working with UNA-USA and WFUNA in 2002. He has worked with UNA-USA’s Global Classrooms Program and through the years has moved from administrative assistant to Deputy Secretary-General, the 2nd highest post in the program. He currently serves on the UNA-USA Council of Chapters & Regions Steering Committee as one of four elected National Representatives.
Johnson graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Sociology Political Science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He is a member of the Shreveport Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and is the North Louisiana Community Manager for the American Cancer Society.
