Kappa Alpha Psi’s New York Alumni Chapter Feeds 300 Families in Harlem with Turkey Giveaway
The New York Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., in collaboration with their Kappa League program, MetroPlus Health, and the New York Achievement Foundation, brought the spirit of giving to the Harlem community this holiday season. From November 18th to November 22nd, the initiative distributed 300 turkeys to families in need, exemplifying the fraternity’s enduring mission of service.
The turkey giveaway began at Convent Baptist Church and culminated at the Percy Sutton Educational Complex, located inside Eagle Academy. Members of the Kappa League, the fraternity’s mentorship program, led the distribution efforts at the complex, paying tribute to Percy Sutton—a Harlem icon, former Manhattan Borough President, and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi.
“This initiative not only addressed an immediate need in our community but also honored the enduring legacy of Percy Sutton, a visionary leader who dedicated his life to service, justice, and empowerment,” said James McIntosh Jr., Guide Right Director of the New York Alumni Chapter. “We are proud to continue his work and celebrate his contributions as a Kappa man.”
The event underscored the chapter’s commitment to Harlem through mentorship, service, and collaboration. The partnership with MetroPlus Health, a key sponsor of the initiative, was instrumental in its success, further advancing the organization’s mission to support underserved communities across New York City.
