Iconic Film and TV Director Stan Lathan Is A Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity
Did you know that Stan Lathan is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi? Lathan pledged the Delta Theta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. at Penn State University.
Stan Lathan is an award-winning television and film director. He has produced sitcoms, comedy specials, and movies and in true Kappa fashion has achieved a long list of awards. Throughout his career he has won two Grammy Awards, three Primetime Emmy Awards, a Tony Award, a Peabody Award and six NAACP Image Awards.
Lathan was born in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, and attended Pennsylvania State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. Stan has had an impressive run in entertainment and is well respected in the industry.
Lathan was the director for many shows including Moesha, Martin, The Steve Harvey Show, All of Us, and Real Husbands of Hollywood among others. He has also directed for Dave Chappelle, Def Comedy Jam, All Def Comedy and Amanda Seales.
He began directing in 1973 when he moved to Los Angeles to direct a few episodes of Sandford and Son.
Lathan has five children including award-winning actress Sanaa Lathan.
