CEO of Warner Bros. Television Studios, Channing Dungey Inducted As Honorary Member of Delta Sigma Theta
The 56th National Convention of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. celebrated a historic moment this week as Channing Dungey, the Chairwoman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Studios, was inducted as an Honorary Member of the sorority.
Channing Dungey has made a significant impact in American television as the first Black American president of a major broadcast television network. Her groundbreaking appointment in 2016 as President of ABC Entertainment Group showcased her visionary leadership and commitment to diversity in the industry.
With an illustrious career that spans over three decades, Dungey has held pivotal roles in influential organizations. From serving as President of ABC Entertainment Group, serving as Vice President of Netflix between 2018 and 2020 to her current position as Chairwoman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Studios since 2020, she has continuously shattered barriers and championed diverse voices in entertainment.
The induction ceremony at Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s 56th National Convention celebrated Dungey’s dedication to empowering women and her trailblazing achievements.
As an honorary member, Channing Nicole Dungey joins a distinguished sisterhood of trailblazing women who have made significant contributions to their respective fields. The induction represents a celebration of her leadership, vision, and commitment to social progress.
Alongside Dungey, the roster of distinguished inductees for this year’s 2023 convention include Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson; former Chairman and CEO of BET Networks, Debra Lee; President of MSNBC, Rashida Jones; Ambassador Bonnie Denise Jenkins; retired WNBA legend and Olympic gold medalist, Tamika Catchings; and esteemed businesswoman and technology entrepreneur, Phyllis Newhouse.
The induction of Channing Dungey at the 56th National Convention in Indianapolis adds to the sorority’s legacy of celebrating remarkable women who have made a lasting impact in their fields, reinforcing their commitment to fostering leadership, diversity, and inclusion.
