These Middle Schoolers from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Made An Ode To HBCUs That Will Make Your Day
Are you ready to see something that will make your day?!
Students and teachers from the Harrisburg School District in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania recently created a video that is an ode to HBCUs and the internet is LOVING it.
The video project was inspired by Beyonce’s “Homecoming,” and was created as a way to, “introduce and expose middle school students from middle schools within the Harrisburg School District to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) while creating meaningful STEAM experiences that may in turn spark consideration in attending HBCU’s in the future,” the creators told Watch The Yard.
In the video you see middle schoolers dressed in HBCU colors and waving HBCU flags and banners.
The students enact scenes of step shows and pep rallies showing how fun it is to go to college.
The concept was developed by Justin Williams and the video was shot and edited by TJ the Director. The video was produced by Johntrae Williams and Angie Smith.
