National Society of Black Engineers and Watch The Yard Announce National Partnership

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) has officially announced a national partnership with Watch The Yard, the leading digital platform dedicated to celebrating Black culture, leadership, and excellence among  Black college students and alumni from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and predominantly white institutions (PWIs). This collaboration marks a significant step in amplifying the voices of Black engineers and inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders.

“As NSBE celebrates 50 years of excellence, we remain committed to driving positive impact for generations to come,” said Janeen Uzzell, CEO of NSBE. ”Our partnership with Watch The Yard is a powerful collaboration that uplifts Black culture and amplifies the voices, successes, and stories of Black leaders in STEM.”

Through this partnership, NSBE and Watch The Yard will work together to highlight the achievements of Black professionals in STEM, share inspirational stories, and engage with Black students and professionals in engineering and technology fields. The partnership aligns with both organizations’ goals of increasing representation, opportunity, and visibility for Black professionals.

“The National Society of Black Engineers is thrilled to partner with Watch The Yard because of our shared commitment to uplifting and empowering Black students and professionals,” NSBE shared in a statement. ”Watch The Yard has established itself as a trusted and influential platform within the Black community, celebrating culture, leadership, and achievement. By joining forces, we have the opportunity to amplify the voices of Black engineers, showcase their excellence, and inspire the next generation of STEM leaders. This partnership allows us to extend our reach, foster meaningful engagement, and continue our mission, ‘to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.’”

For years, Watch The Yard has served as a cultural touchstone for Black excellence, elevating stories from HBCUs, PWIs, Black Greek-letter organizations, and Black professionals across industries. NSBE recognizes Watch The Yard’s impact in preserving Black history and culture, while also shaping the future through its storytelling and community-building efforts.

This is not the first time Watch The Yard has led impactful national partnerships. The platform has successfully partnered with the National Black Law Students Association and has engaged in multiple national collaborations with Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote, demonstrating its ability to authentically connect with Black students and professionals.

“Watch The Yard is more than just a media platform—it is a cultural touchstone for Black excellence, leadership, and community,” NSBE stated. ”By authentically celebrating Black college culture, Greek life, and professional achievements, Watch The Yard plays a critical role in preserving history while shaping the future. Its storytelling not only highlights the accomplishments of Black students and professionals but also provides a sense of pride, unity, and inspiration. For organizations like NSBE, Watch The Yard serves as an invaluable space to connect with the next generation of Black leaders and ensure that their contributions are recognized and celebrated.”

Jonathan Rabb, CEO of Watch The Yard, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating:

“We are incredibly excited to partner with the National Society of Black Engineers to highlight the brilliance and innovation of Black engineers and Black professionals in STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—across the country. Watch The Yard has always been committed to telling the stories of Black excellence, and this partnership allows us to further our mission by shining a light on the achievements of NSBE’s members. Together, we are ensuring that the contributions of Black engineers and other Black STEM professionals are celebrated, amplified, and used as inspiration for future generations.”
