Former U.S. Congressman Floyd Flake Is A Member Of Alpha Phi Alpha
Did you know that former U.S. Congressman Floyd Flake is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha? Flake pledged the Zeta Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Floyd Flake was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Houston, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilberforce University becoming the first member of his family to graduate from college. He is the senior pastor of Greater Allen African Methodist Episcopal Cathedral in Jamaica, Queens, New York. The church has over 23,000 members.
Flake defeated congressman Alton Waldon in the primary and became a member of the 100th U.S. Congress from the 6th New York Congressional District. He served in congress from 1987-1997.
