The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha in New York are Throwing a Virtual Alpha Week Because of Quarantine
School may have been shut down due to COVID-19 but the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha in New York are not letting that stop their outreach and events.
To circumnavigate the difficulty of not being able to throw events in public, the Eta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha which represents Columbia University, City College, John Jay College and Hunter College, is throwing a virtual Alpha Week to help their community.
The week, which will all be held online and through conferencing platforms, includes five days worth of events and will run from Monday, May 4th to Friday, May 8th.
Events include topics about understanding the impact of COVID-19, Black real estate, and even an informational for prospective members.
We at Watch The Yard would like to commend these young brothers on their initiative. As a platform that focuses on empowering Black students using technology, we at Watch The Yard love to see this kind of initiative being taken by students to help each other get through this tough time.
Share this on Facebook if you think they deserve to go VIRAL!
