Alpha Phi Alpha Donates $10,000 For New Little League Baseball Field Scoreboards In Las Vegas
The brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha are in Las Vegas for their 95th General Convention and are making their mark on the city.
Last week, the City of Las Vegas announced in a press release that Ward 5 Councilman Cedric Crear would accept a $10,000 donation from the fraternity for two new scoreboards at the Kianga Isoke Palacio Park baseball fields.
The fields are home to the Bolden Little League.
“I’m happy to accept this generous donation to upgrade these fields at the Doolittle Complex that serve so many children in Ward 5,” said Councilman Crear. “Alpha Phi Alpha has a long tradition of charitable works and we welcome this brotherhood to Las Vegas for its 95th General Convention.”
“Alpha Phi Alpha is pleased to help support Las Vegas youth through educational and sporting activities,” said Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. General President Dr. Everett B. Ward. “Our fraternity is proud to donate to the baseball scoreboard as a way to promote the message, ‘Go to High School, Go to College’.”
We at Watch The Yard would like to commend the brothers for their work to improve the communities around them.
