Why Alpha Kappa Alpha Olympian Kristi Castlin Is 100% #BlackGirlMagic
Kristi Castlin is running the Women’s 100m hurdles tonight and not only do we love her because of her #BlackGirlMagic but also because she just so happens to be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
The 28-year-old U.S. champion and world record holder was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended Virginia Tech for college where she had multiple top three finishes in NCAA competition. After college, she signed with adidas and as a professional athlete, competed in over 40 different countries. She currently ranks among the Top 10 in the world for 100-meter hurdles, a ranking she has maintained for three consecutive years.
She is fast. Check out this video of her winning the 100m hurdles at Diamond League in Brussels:
To add to all of this amazingness, she was selected by the U.S. Embassy of Guyana as a U.S. ambassador of sport.
She is a proud AKA who loves repping the 1908!
