Yahoo just created a documentary on hymn lining, the disappearing art of African-American singing which dates back to slavery in the American South.
For the mini-documentary they took their cameras to interview 86-year-
old, Troy Demps, of Orlando, Florida, who is trying to preserve the tradition of this soulful musical worship that has deep roots in African-American musical styles. In the video, Demps is seen hymn lining at his church in front of a group of women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
