To be a real man, one must be able to show compassion, feeling and portray their emotions to others with strength.
In this world where many young men are growing up without men in their lives it is amazing to see poems like the following that we at WatchTheYard.com just came across by a young brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., on the promise he has made on behalf of black fathers to their sons.
The spoken word piece was written and performed by William Royster, a senior at the University of Michigan who just so happens to be the chapter president of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s Epsilon Chapter.
Watch the poem below and share it with as many men as possible on social media. This poem exemplifies the type of role models and fathers we need to see in our communities, let’s make this go viral.
If you would like to see more of William Royster’s poems, go to iamwilliamroyster.com.
