September 21, 2015 – Washington – Leading African American service organization Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated hosted the “Balancing Our Media Images, Saving Our Communities” forum that provided solutions for remedying the impact of harmful media images on minority communities. The forum was held on Sept. 16 at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel while the Congressional Black Caucus convened for its 45th Annual Legislative Conference. Zeta International President Mary Breaux Wright led the discussion.
Executive leadership from the National Pan-Hellenic Council (“Divine Nine” sororities and fraternities), the March of Dimes and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, as well as government officials, activists and members were in attendance at the standing-room only forum. Zeta’s National Social Action Director Krysta Jones and National “Get Engaged” Chairperson Kendra Hatcher King organized the forum, which is a part of Zeta’s “Get Engaged” social action initiative.
