Kera Wright Inducted as Honorary Member of Sigma Gamma Rho
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. announced the induction of Kera Wright as an Honorary Member today at it’s 60th International Biennial Boule in Houston. Wright, a distinguished finance executive and community advocate, is recognized for her exceptional contributions to the healthcare sector and her dedication to improving the lives of children and families.
Kera Wright serves as the Chief Financial Officer of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In her role, she leads a team responsible for financial planning, data analytics, accounting, tax, and treasury. With over 26 years of global experience in operations, finance, accounting, and strategic management—20 of which have been in the healthcare industry—Kera’s expertise is instrumental in supporting St. Jude’s mission. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting from Hampton University and has attended the Wharton School of Business.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, since its founding in 1962, has been dedicated to finding cures for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases, providing treatment without cost to families. This commitment aligns closely with Sigma Gamma Rho’s values. In October 2023, Sigma Gamma Rho made history by pledging and raising $1 million for St. Jude, becoming the first Divine Nine sorority to achieve this milestone.
Outside of her professional role, Kera is actively involved in the Greater Memphis Community, focusing on reducing youth violence through sports and arts. She expresses admiration for Sigma Gamma Rho’s strong sense of unity and shared purpose, stating, “Sigma Gamma Rho is a powerful organization of women with diverse experiences, and the strong sisterhood that binds you all together is truly admirable. It is this sense of unity and shared purpose that I wish to be a part of.”
Kera Wright’s induction as an honorary member highlights her impactful career and dedication to community service. She joins an impressive cohort of new honorary members of Sigma Gamma Rho, including Krystal Harris, Ta’Rhonda Jones, Bianca Knight, Sharon Moody, Kim Roxie, April Showers, Bettina Benson, Rebekah Borucki, Jackie Chambers de Freitas, Kelley Gay, and Dwan Martin.
