These AKAs from Washington, D.C. Did a Sisterhood Photoshoot and We’re 1908% Here For It
The women of the Omicron Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. recently did a chapter photoshoot to document the history of their chapter for future generations.
Omicron Pi is an award-winning city-wide chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated that was chartered on January 20, 1989 in Washington, D.C. and is comprised of Catholic University, Georgetown University, and Trinity-Washington University.
The chapter has been recognized by their region as a chapter of P.R.O.M.I.S.E, first place stroll champions, and even Chapter of the Year, among other accolades.
“Through our international programming goals, we have served the community through fundraisers, panel discussions, mental health initiatives, local food banks, youth STEM mentorship, voter registration drives, and many other impactful events,” one of the sorors told Watch The Yard in an interview. “Not only do we have a demonstrated commitment to serving others, but we are also truly a group of scholars, and one or more of our members has been represented in the 4.0 Klub for the last two years without interruption.”
In addition to serving AKA, our members represent the leaders of our campuses who go on to do amazing things. Our sisterhood in a nutshell: We’ve won, we’ve lost; We’ve laughed, we’ve cried and though our bond has been tested it has never been broken.
