Watch This Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Recite ‘Invictus’ Twice in One Breath
Yesterday, we at Watch The Yard started our #WTYinvictus challenge with members of the Black greek community. The challenge, recite the poem Invictus clearly and concisely in one breath.
We received videos from all over the country, including one from @frenchcreole, a Fall 14 initiate of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at University of California, Irvine and a current member of the Orange County Grad Chapter who blew us away so much that we sent her money for lunch via Cash App. While everyone was sending in videos doing Invictus in one breath, she recited the whole poem TWICE through in one breath.
According to her caption, she “used to swim, sing in choir and do musical theater,” so her lungs were trained for the challenge in a way that we did not expect.
Watch her full video below!
We are still accepting submissions! If you think you can beat this, post a video to Instagram with the hashtag #WTYinvictus, we will feature our favorites!
